AI ANALYTICS LABORATORY

  • The AI Analytics Laboratory at Velalar College of Engineering and Technology—an autonomous institution affiliated with Anna University and accredited by NAAC (“A”) and NBA—is equipped with a comprehensive array of high-performance computing systems and peripheral devices designed to support advanced research and education in artificial intelligence and data science.
  • The lab features four distinct workstation configurations: ten units powered by 12th Gen Intel i5-13900K processors running at 3.10 GHz, each paired with 512 GB SSDs, dual 8 GB DDR4 memory modules, Nvidia T1000 (8GB) GPUs, and 22-inch LED monitors; twenty-five units equipped with 12th Gen Intel i7-12700 processors at 2.10 GHz, combined with either 512 GB SSDs or 1 TB HDDs, 8 GB DDR4 memory, and 19.5-inch LED monitors; twenty units utilizing 13th Gen Intel i5-13400 processors at 2.50 GHz with 8 GB DDR4 memory and 512 GB SSDs along with 22-inch LED monitors; and ten units featuring 13th Gen Intel i9-13900K processors at 3.00 GHz, 16 GB DDR4 memory, 1 TB SSDs, and 22-inch LED monitors, contributing to a total workstation cost of Rs. 62,16,529 (inclusive of 18% GST).
  • In addition to these computing systems, the laboratory is outfitted with essential peripheral equipment, including an HP Laser 1008a printer, a 65-inch TCL Smart TV, four 24-port network switches, 65 web cameras, 10 extra units of 8 GB RAM, and 10 additional Nvidia T1000 (8GB) graphics units. The lab further extends its capabilities through specialized developer kits—namely, the ORIN AGX (64 GB) priced at Rs. 1,90,808, the ORIN NANO (16 GB) at Rs. 47,633, and the JETSON NANO (8 GB) at Rs. 14,398—totaling Rs. 2,98,350 (inclusive of 18% GST). Housed within a 97.6 square meter space with approximate dimensions of 28½ feet by 37 feet, the laboratory's infrastructure, detailed in revision 1 dated 19.02.21, embodies a robust and well-organized environment that effectively supports the institution's cutting-edge AI research initiatives.
